the world as i see it

everybody thinks someone out there wants to know their opinions. their problems. their life story. i guess i'm no different.

but it's tradition!

according to my sister, i am the 'queen of tradition.'
i am obsessed with traditions. keeping things the same. expected.
i am currently in the midst of my 9th annual fall break 'girls trip' - four of which were spent here, in Edinburgh, Indiana. we outlet shop like it's going out of style.
we'll be back here on thanksgiving. because it's tradition.
on christmas morning, i still get up before the sun and sit in the hallway waiting for santa. my brother joins me. and we still pick on my sister for taking her dear time.
during ham days weekend, my mom keeps the tradition of making chili and potato soup on saturday night. she broke that tradition this year, but we went out to eat and i got chili and potato soup. in spirit of the tradition.
on my anniversary with jesse, i'll go to blues and have a glass of white zinfandel. he won't be here. he wasn't here last year. but we met there, and it's now tradition.
during junior miss, my mom, sister, aunt and i always sit on the same seats. we also go to early mass, then get to junior miss when the doors open. the chelfs frequently join us. our butt marks are permanently ingrained in those bleachers, from the many years of tradition.
a tradition i have unfortunatley broken is going to TGI Friday's on my birthday. since i was in college, my family and my uncle's family have met at TGI Friday's to celebrate birthdays. i always get a club sandwich and fries. (maybe the reason i order the same food from every restaurant is a matter of tradition).
on the anniversary of my grandmother's death, several family members get up early for 7:00 mass. then we go to breakfast. this year, some didn't want to. i made them. after all, it's tradition.

yes, i do love traditions. call me boring. call me predictable. or, just call me queen. of traditions.
