open mic night
last night, jesse, jimmy and i went to 'the hub' for open mic night. however, instead of getting our ears blasted with people who don't have the talent or confidence to sing anywhere else, we found a quaint table outside and sipped on hot tea and coffe while having the best conversation any writer could have. i think by the end of it we were all inspired to break out the dusty composition notebook and give our old pay 'writing' a visit.
it reminds me that i get so wrapped up in the mundane things in life - the old routine - that i forget the things i like doing for - what's that word - fun? i, along with many, many people have dreams of being published one day. but i can't remember the last time i sat down to write something.
we also talked about how much happier the world would be if everyone started their morning with a little dance ellen-degenerous style. ten minutes, every morning, we all stop and do a little jiggle.
from now on, i'm going to try to dance more and write more. i bet, in the end, i'll smile more too.
