napkin map

i suck at geography. seriously. it's bad. i can't name all the states on the map. including those i've visited (in my defense, i can't remember ever learning geography in school). the other day, i asked my friend marian, who is from slovakia, where his hometown was located in europe. he drew me a map (on a napkin). after looking at the map, i realized how stupid i was (and how talented marian was at drawing napkin maps!). last summer, i visited budapest, vienna, berlin, and prague. these surround slovakia. as a matter of fact, i had to cut through slovakia to get from one to the other. i did not realize this. until my napkin map.

it is one of my life goals to visit every state in the country. wherever i go, i buy a magnet in the chape of the particular state. on my fridge is a magnet map... with serious gaps. the only problem is that, even after visiting there, I don't know where I've been. And where it falls on the map.
