well, you don't have kids...
no, you're right, i don't have kids. but contrary to what you seem to believe, that does not mean that i go home from work, sit on the couch, read a book, paint my nails, and turn in to bed early. it means that i'm picking up the slack from all of you who do have kids. since you need to pick up your kids from the babysitter at 3:30 exactly, i'm sponsoring clubs, coaching teams, grading papers, planning lessons, serving on councils, furthering my education...and rarely leaving school before 6 pm. it means i'm expected to dedicate more time to my job so that you can go home to your family and kids. it means that, while you're rushing home to put supper on the table, i'm eating a McChicken in the car on the way to yet another meeting. it means that while you are stressed about finishing laundry for your husband, i'm stressing about trying to create a family and making time for a loved one and a social life of some sort. it means that when you have a bad day and you're exhausted, you sit down and read your child a bedtime story and everything suddenly feels worth it - while i - i come home to an empty house and fall asleep on the couch alone, wondering what it's all for.
but you're right, i don't have kids. i have all the time in the world.

Wowsers... My guess is someone feels a little silly right now.
Btw, why is Jesse up at 4:39 in the morning? goodness man, get some sleep!
Yes Coury! Yes!
Beautifully written...I love it...I will try not to complain about the laundry and unruly kids again...thanks for pointing it out to me...
Anytime you want to borrow Amira to read her bedtime story to her and feel loved, come on over. She will make you feel special and give you hugs. Then, maybe, it will help that emptiness. She LOVES her Aunt TOCO! (Don't forget her excitement over seeing you the other day.) :)
I know what you mean about the comments, tho, and don't blame you. Just offering to share the love of a child with my special sister. You're the best!
Thanks. You know me, I feel loved every day. It was just a nice ending to the post! Its more about people assuming my life is easy because I don't have kids.
