i hope that may 20th takes forever to get here.
when it does get here, it will come with a suitcase full of vacations: destin, florida and a european excursion will be packed tightly between its zippers.
but i hope it never comes
when it does get here, i will have two months waking up to the sun peeking through my shades rather than my alarm clock blaring in my ear. i will have two months of lying out, getting tanned, eating breakfast outside on my deck.
but i hope april lasts forever.
when it does get here, grading papers and making lesson plans will be the last thing on my mind. really, my mind will be full of frivolous things.

but in may, my whole life will change. and most of the people in my life that i care most about -- will no longer be in my life.

so i'll take the cold weather. i'll take the papers to grade. I'll take the planner full of meetings, deadlines, and tests. just let me keep the rest.
