my bubble
i live in a bubble. in my bubble, people are genuinely kind. no one is ever diagnosed with cancer. teenagers, especially high school students, are not tempted by drugs or alcohol. there is no violence (why would there be when everyone was kind?). everyone grows up in a home where they feel loved and supported. my bubble is a great place to be.
sometimes, people try to burst my bubble. especially newscasters. they tell me things about murders and fires and deaths.
after awhile, the walls of my bubble begin to thin so i turn them off. other people say things like, the government has the cure for cancer but won't share it because they make too much money now, or, you know your high school students are having sex right now, right. those people aren't allowed in my bubble. i kick them out. out of the happy bubble, people!
so i'll keep floating around in my bubble, smiling and pretending everything is coming up roses. you're invited to join. if you keep your mouth shut.
