these are a few of my favorite things

sitting in my living room, lit only by the christmas tree and an apple pie flavored candle

listening to the deep breathing of moe as he curls into a ball and sleeps soundly on his cushion

the anticipation that came with the arrival of a new harry potter book or movie and the pleasure of reading and watching them again and again

receiving a facebook or myspace message from a friend from long ago

seeing amira shake with joy when her 'dodo' walks into a room and hearing her sweet voice ask - in a full sentence - 'dodo, will you help me?'

sitting at the kitchen table with jesse while we snack on hot chocolate and toast (or syrian bread!) and plan a trip together

going to blues and laughing with charles, laughing at michael, gossiping with stacey, teasing marian, and dancing with jesse

christmas break being just two and a half weeks away.
