the world as i see it

everybody thinks someone out there wants to know their opinions. their problems. their life story. i guess i'm no different.

reflecting on 2007

2007 has been an incredible year.
professionally, i'd say it was the best year of my life thus far. i was elected as site-based member, i was chosen to score AP exams for this summer, we are in competition for an incredible AP grant, i attended a model schools conference in DC, and, oh yea, i became nationally certified.

things in my personal life aren't so shabby either. my niece, amira, has lived her second year of life, still as the center of my world. my boyfriend and i have dug into the depths of our relationship, threw a little dirt at each other, and crawled out even happier and rejuvenated than before. i've had no personal crisis or tragedies. i'm healthy.

one of my favorite parts of 2007 is that I made new friends. the 'blues regulars' quickly grew to be some of my closest friends. stacey, michael, charles and the gang helped me survive jesse's move and have literally made me laugh from crying more often than i can ever remember doing.

as a matter of fact, when i look back on it, 2007 has been really good. maybe too good. it makes me look forward to and dread 2008 all at once. after all, it has big shoes to fill.
